The CO sensors in our detectors have a 5 to 7 year life under ideal conditions. Even if they are protected from all external
contaminants, we strongly recommend re-calibration of the units after 5 years. The CO sensor is extremely sensitive and certain
substances in the ambient air may change its characteristics and affect reliability.
We will re-calibrate and overhaul any of your CO Guardian models for a flat fee (Please contact CO Guardian for pricing
information). This service includes the installation of a new CO sensor, fan replacement, re-calibration of the unit and a complete
system check. In addition, you will receive a fresh 12 month warranty.
The Aero 452 comes with a 1 year limited warranty. The warranty will be void if the unit has been opened or tampered with. If you
experience any problems with the unit, please call 1-800-639-7139 or email us at support@coguardian.com and we will glad to
assist you and have the problem rectified.
What is the difference between Aero 352 and Aero 452 ?

Aero 452 is FAA-approved for installation on certified aircraft, where as Aero 353 is designed for installation on home built /
experimental aircraft.

Aero 452 has a 1 year limited warranty? Does it mean it cannot be used beyond 1 year?

All our CO detectors use solid state CO sensors. Although the sensor has a life of at least 5 to 7 years in ideal dust-free
environment, actual life of the sensor could vary, depending on the operating environment.

Our units are designed so that if the sensor or any part of the unit is mal-functioning, a failure-alert is triggered to warn you that
something is wrong.

You can continue to use the units even beyond the 1 year warranty period, as long as it is NOT giving you a failure alert. Should a
failure occur beyond the warranty period, we will service the unit for a fee.

I would like to extend the warranty beyond 1 year ? How do I do that ?

We have a facility for re-calibration and complete system check of the unit at the end of the 1 year warranty period, when we will
give you a fresh warranty.

Functional Test Video
As you will see on the video shown below, we tested the AERO 452-101-011 with smoke from a regular
cigarette. Carbon Monoxide is one of the gases mixed in cigarettes smoke. On this video you will see how the
CO detector behaves when Carbon monoxide is present. First you will see the Stand by mode light (green),
then, as CO flows over the sensor, the alarm alert will come off (red light) indicating that the volume of CO
present in the area is above 100 PPM, and when the cigarette is take away from the detector, the red light
turns amber (warning alarm) then goes back to green indicating that the level of CO came back below 50 PPM.
Please remember that this test is being performed in a regular room and not in an aircraft cabin.
