Remote CO Detector with built in Pressure sensor and RS232 Output for MFDCO Guardian upgrades its best selling model, the 352 to the 353-201. Our model 353-201 has a brand new sensor that can detect CO as low as 1 part per million (ppm)up to 999 PPM. This unit now comes standard for interfacing with CO level displays on the G1000, GNS480 and other multi-function displays. This model can be remotely mounted anywhere in the aircraft, saving valuable panel space.
The primary function of the unit is to monitor CO levels from 01 ppm to 999 ppm. If the CO level reaches more than 50 ppm within five minutes, a remote light will illuminate till the CO level returns to below 50 ppm. But there is a lot more to this new warning system.
The 353 now has a built in pressure sensor which compensates for altitude up to 25,000 feet. Similar to hypoxia, the body's tolerance to CO decreases, as altitude increases, this is what makes this new sensor such a critical item.
· Input power 9-30 VDC (auto voltage sensing) with less than 2 watt power draw
· Temperature range -20C to 70C, humidity 5% to 95% (non compensating)
· Interface: RS232 to the MFD to display "CO Level, cabin temperature and cabin pressure",
· Pressure sensor: tested to 25,000 feet
· Low and high voltage alarm
· Dual relays (CO alert and voltage alert)
· 85db alarm

Re-calibration: The CO sensors in our detectors have a 5 to 7 year life under ideal conditions. Even if they are protected from all external contaminants, we strongly recommend re-calibration of the units after 3 years. The CO sensor is extremely sensitive and certain substances in the ambient air may change its characteristics and affect reliability.
We will re-calibrate any of your CO Guardian models for a $199.00 flat fee. This service includes the installation of a new CO sensor, re-calibration of the unit and a complete system check. In addition, you will receive a fresh 12 month warranty.
Aero 353 Remote Installed :The following 2
photographs show the 353 Remote unit installed on the
panel in a Cessna 172. The instrument itself is located
conveniently behind the panel in a non-intrusive way
that retains the elegance of the panel lay out. The
warning light and test/reset button are located in front
of the pilot just above the air speed indicator to draw
his immediate attention if the warning light ever comes
ON. The flexibility in remotely positioning the Aero
353R at any convenient location you choose, is best
illustrated by this layout.
